To all past and present colleagues at Echo-U, you will recognise the wonderful Ruth Donaldson. At 75, Ruth has decided it is time to retire – and we could not let her go without celebrating everything she has meant to us.
Ruth is a legend at Echo-U for many reasons, but “payday crisps” is all Ruth. Payday is always a great day in any organisation, but Ruth added an extra layer of excitement with a packet of crisps on every desk and the inevitable bartering of “I’ll swap my ready salted for your salt and vinegar.” A small gesture, but one that meant everything.
She has always been so kind. No Christmas, birthday or Easter passes without presents for the team and our children. Ruth’s morning chats are something we will all miss more than we can say.
We know she will be enjoying her well-earned time with her family and her wonderful art projects, and we will absolutely be keeping in touch.
Whilst most of the business world focuses on celebrating commercial success, it is just as important to recognise the backbone of any organisation – the unsung heroes who turn up every day, complete vital tasks, and shape the personality of a business. Ruth has been key to Echo-U’s success and has made it a welcoming, kind place for absolutely everyone who has walked through the door.
Thank you, Ruth. You are irreplaceable.
