We are thrilled to announce that we will be supporting world-renowned football club, Wallsend Boys Club, for the third year running this season as a corporate sponsorship partner.
With our shared heritage in the North East and a belief that sport, health and wellbeing are vital for communities, Echo-U is committed to continue our support with the club for the long term and we’ll be sponsoring the boys U11 Yellows team. We are proud to support such a successful and iconic club that have always believed that they deliver ‘more than football’ to their communities in the North East.
The non-profit charity relies on corporate sponsorship to develop further and it is great to see that with combined support from Echo-U and other partners, we will be supporting every element of the club from day to day expenses, team kits and travel to some of the larger development plans, which currently includes a 3G all seasons floodlit pitch with indoor training, changing facilities, restaurant and viewing areas at its centre in Kirkley Park, Wallsend.
Our joint owner and director, David Blakey, is a keen football fan and is also dedicating his time to be a part of the football club’s management committee as its head of sponsorship, ensuring the continued long-term future development of the club.
A centre of excellence for football development, Wallsend Boys Club has two centres already in Wallsend and Hong Kong and has produced many successful footballers including Peter Beardsley, Alan Shearer and Michael Carrick.
Alongside the development of the floodlit pitch, the club is hoping to replicate its Hong Kong model in other Asian communities such as Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. The main aim of this would be to provide relief from circumstances of poverty for underprivileged children, giving them the opportunities to have fun, participate in sport and learn the benefits of health and wellbeing.
We’re really excited to continue on a journey with Wallsend Boys Club and look forward to see what this season holds for the boys U11 Yellows team and the club’s overall development.
